iPhone 3.0 Software Update

8:30 AM – Waiting: Woke up early thinking that the update would be available but nothing yet. You would think that it would been available at midnight, last night, to give the maximum amount of time to download this update. Hopefully to avoid the 2.0 update issues we had last time.

8:40 AM: Saw on Twitter that the download will be available at 1:00PM Eastern or 11:00 AM (my time). Waiting….

9:10 AM: Looks like the 1:00 PM EST roll out estimation is pretty credible. 1 hour and 45 minutes to go. Tons of “Why won’t my iPhone update to the 3.0 software” tweets on Twitter.

9:30 AM: “This version of the iPhone software (2.2.1) is the current version” - That message is just sitting there mocking me.

10:25 AM: Recent Twitter posts telling me that it has been released. I still can’t download. Anyone having luck? (looks like those tweets were a hoax)

11:00 AM: Still now download available. It’s now 11:01 and nothing.

11:05 AM: getting random “It’s Online” tweets but not luck here.

11:10 AM: Looks like more and more people are able to download. Apple must be rolling out the download in phases. Too bad I’m not in the first phase. Hopefully this will keep the servers from crashing.

11:15 AM: Success at last! Downloading the 3.0 software as I write this. More to come.

11:20 AM: Download is slow. I guess this is to be expected.

11:48 AM: Download and install all done. Now to see what this sucker can do.
