Sophos Not Updating on Mac

Problem: Created a Central Installation Directory (CID) and published it to the web for my Mac clients to update Sophos antivirus.  Worked for a while we then started to get errors stating that the directory was not valid or couldn’t connect to primary server.  Working with Sophos tech support and trying numerous clients, we were still unable to connect to the CID for updates.

Solution: Found out that Sophos has two packages:

1. Sophos Anti-Virus for Mac OS X 10.4+ 7.x (the package I am now using)
2. Sophos Anti-Virus for Mac OS X (the one I was using)

Once I chose the correct package (#1), created the CID and published it to the network, my Mac’s were now updating properly.
