Getting “No matching security types” Error

Problem: When trying to access an OS X server, using RealVNC and Windows XP, I get the error “No matching security types” when trying to connect.
Solution: Went into the Remote Management settings and clicked on the “Computer Settings” button and checked the “VNC viewers may control screen with password” option. I then set the password and was able to connect using RealVNC.
