Can’t find “Configuration” context in ADSI Edit
April 2nd, 2012 Posted in Active Directory, Server 2008Problem: When trying to do some tasks in ADSI Edit that require manipulating objects within the “configuration” context (mainly for exchange), I can’t seem to find it. All I can see is the “Default naming context.”
Solution:
Within ADSI Edit’s menu click on “Action” and then “Settings.” You will see a drop down menu within the connection settings that has “Select a well known Naming Context:” Choose “Configuration” from the list of contexts and click “OK.” You will then be able to work with the CN’s that are listed in a lot of TechNet articles…
