iPhone is Frozen

Problem:  One of our employees came to me with a frozen iPhone.  It was stuck on a process and would not budge.  Tried to power it off by pressing the sleep button for a few seconds but no response. 
Solution:  Held down the Sleep and the Home button for what seemed like 10 seconds or so [...]
