Epson PowerLite S7 projector over heats. Temp light flashes red

Problem:  When turning on my Epson projector, the temp light starts to flash and the unit shuts down. Sometimes within an hour or minutes.  It’s really hard to tell and no rhyme or reason to it.  Cleaned the filter and the other fans with no luck.

Solution:  Turns out there is a “High altitude” setting within the menu.  When turned on, the fans speed up thus increasing air circulation.  This is only recommended for elevations above 4900 feet and we are at about 5500 feet here.  So far it is working like a charm.  You can find the high altitude setting within the menu – Extended – Operation.
